Police Blotter: Friend or Foe, Four-Car Smash Up and Walking Into Traffic

The following arrest information was supplied by the Village of Mamaroneck police department. It does not indicate a conviction

Saturday, August 6

3:01 a.m. – A 32-year old Bronx woman driving a Lexus was stopped for a motor vehicle infraction in front of 324 Halstead Ave., near the .  Upon further investigation, she was arrested and charged with DWI.

3:15 a.m. – A 22-year old village man was shouting obscenities while standing on Mamaroneck Avenue.  He was charged with disorderly conduct.

4:34 a.m. – An unknown perpetrator smashed a window at Avenue Bagel Café on 227 Mamaroneck Ave. in the wee hours of the morning. The owner of the restaurant was notified.

6:25 a.m. – The fire department was called to a residence at 408 Rushmore Ave. after a small electrical fire started in the living room of the home. The fire was contained.

5:49 p.m. – A knock-out brawl between friends on the 400 block of Mamaroneck Avenue led to a 27-year old village man being arrested and charged with third degree assault for striking a 31-year old village man who suffered a swollen lip after being punched in the face.  Another man—a 30-year old village resident—pressed charges against the same man the following day for hitting him and causing a swollen forehead.   The 27-year old man was also charged with second degree harassment and unwanted contact.  It is unknown how the fight started.

Sunday, August 7

12:19 a.m. – Police responded to complaints of loud music and screaming coming from the on 123 Mamaroneck Ave.  After speaking with the manager on duty, the music was lowered.

2:20 a.m. – A 25-year old Harrison man skidded off the road in front of 158 W. Boston Post Rd. near , striking one parked car. The force of his impact on the first car set off a chain reaction, whereby three more parked cars were struck by the force of his initial impact.  All vehicles were unoccupied.  The Harrison resident later failed sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with DWI.  His passenger—a 31-year old Port Chester resident—was treated on the scene for minor leg burns.

6:02 a.m. – Police came across an intoxicated and unresponsive man sprawled on the sidewalk on Halstead Avenue.  The man was taken to Sound Shore Hospital for evaluation.

7:28 a.m. – A shirtless, shoeless and inebriated man was walking in the middle of the roadway, seemingly oblivious to oncoming traffic, near on 1000 Boston Post Rd.  He was taken to Sound Shore Hospital for evaluation.

Monday, August 8

2:36 a.m. – A 51-year old Harrison man driving a 2005 Toyota was pulled over for a motor vehicle infraction in front of the on 405 E. Boston Post Rd.  The man was later arrested and charged with DWI.

8:27 a.m. – A $250 iPod was taken from a vehicle parked on Pine Knoll Lane.  The car was reportedly locked, however, there were no signs of forced entry.  No further information was given.

7:12 p.m. – The driver of a 2004 Acura rear ended a 2000 Toyota driven by a 34-year old Port Chester man on Halstead Avenue.  The driver of the Toyota was taken to Sound Shore Hospital with head and back pain.
