Carly Rose to Lead Parade in Mamaroneck This Weekend

"X Factor" star and singer Carly Rose Sonenclar will light up Mamaroneck Avenue on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Although the X Factor finale has come and gone, Carly Rose Sonenclar will not be a forgotten star.

This Sunday, Carly will lead a parade in her honor down Mamaroneck Avenue in the Village of Mamaroneck at 2:30 p.m. that will include local police, fire and emergency management services (EMS) departments, as well as cheerleaders and athletic teams from local schools.

Carly and Mayor Norm Rosenblum will speak to her fans and others in the community who have supported the hometown hero at 3:30 p.m.

Wouldnt having the parade in the spring be a better idea then January with a high of 20 ?

Mary, The scheduling was partly a result of Carly Rose being under contract now, so scheduling is dependent on all her other engagements. We also wanted to get her while local excitement for her is high, and didn't want to compete with the Super Bowl.

I would love to be there for this, but I'm in Georgia and I'll be there in spirit! She is a great young lady that deserves the recognition she is about to receive. Wasn't aware she was under contract yet, so that's good news. Go Carly...

Will she be singing?? It says that she will speak to the fans ...but says nothing about performing.

I think honoring Carly Rose's achievement is noteworthy, however who is paying for the village employees' time involved in this endeavor? Did they volunteer their time for these services?

Carly, you may have runner up , but what I 've experienced watching the x-factor, you won it all in my eyes and eyes. The song you sung at brittany's house haunts my soul still. I look forward to buying your cd's in the future as I 'm sure your will come true. Never forget the little people, and your family. Your biggest fan. Tj.
