Fall means back to school and a boatload of activities for many people in our communities. But it’s not all kid-centered; the cooler air brings a list of options for everyone in the Sound Shore area. Before you get caught up in the whirlwind, mark your calendar and plan to attend these three events for fun and fundraising.

Four Juniors; Molly and Sarah Cohn, Laura Gardiner and Charlotte Rieder have banded together to form a team to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on Oct. 21 and 22. They will walk 39 miles, sleep in pink tents and raise money as a team Waging War on Cancer (WWOC). Each participant pledges to raise $1,800 to walk and then the group is on their way. In addition to individual efforts, WWOC will benefit from September and October events.

Oktoberfest 2012: Sunday, Oct. 7

It’s back! Oktoberfest will take over Larchmont Avenue between Addison Street and the Boston Post Road on Sunday, Oct. 7.  Sponsors like , and have fabulous activities planned for all ages to enjoy between 1-9 p.m. No need to cook lunch or dinner, there will be plenty of food available at the event. The WWOC team will be there to help out and, thanks to the sponsors, sell raffle tickets for prizes from Larchmont businesses.
