Leukemia Cup, Farmers Market and White Plains Jazz

Here are some of things to do in and around Larchmont and Mamaroneck this weekend.

1. Plenty of fresh produce and other goodies are still available from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Down to Earth Farmers Market in Larchmont at the Metro North train station parking lot.

2. The Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will hold its annual Leukemia Cup Regatta at the Larchmont Yacht Club (LYC), 1 Woodbine Ave Larchmont, NY on Saturday & Sunday, September 7th & 8th. Proceeds go to help fund blood cancer research. 3. Have you seen the new Marine Education Center in at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck yet?  If not, come on down this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon to check out spider crabs, shells, horseshoe crabs and more. It's open every Saturday, or whenever the flags are flying.

4. On Sunday, there will be a Street Fair on Main Street between Centre and North avenues celebrating New Rochelle's 325th Anniversary. There will be food, vendors and live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The area where the street fair will be will close to traffic at 7 a.m. Cross streets will be open during the day and parking at the Church/Division, Prospect and Library lots will be free.

5. The White Plains Jazz Festival takes place Friday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 8. The event will feature top performers at venues throughout the city. On Saturday, comedian Bill Cosby is scheduled to take the stage at the Westchester County Center as part of the festival. Cosby's show is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here. The festival culminates Sunday with The White Plains International Food and Jazz Fest, which takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Mamaroneck & Martine avenues.
