Boston Post Road Construction, Drama Workshops and Dinosaurs

Here are a few of the things you need to know in Larchmont and Mamaroneck for the week of August 19, 2013.

1. Night construction work at the intersection of Boston Post Road and Barry Avenue will continue Monday, August 9 through Friday August 23. The work is scheduled between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. The project has been slowed due to significant rock deposits that need to be drilled and split to make way for the drainage pipe.

2. Registration continues for the Westchester Sandbox Theatre Summer Drama workshops, taking place August 27-29 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The fee is $150 for the three workshops. Call 914-630-0804 or visit www.wstshows.com.

3. Children ages 5 to 7 can make their own Dino-Spy Bottles at 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 20 at the Larchmont Public Library, 121 Larchmont Ave. There will also be books about dinosaurs that will be read. Register in person or by calling 914-834-2281.

4. The National Weather Service has a rain-free forecast in store for the week. Monday, August 19 calls for increasing clouds with a high near 85. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high hear 86. No precipitation is in the forecast through Saturday.

5. Want to go to a county fair? How about the Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck? The annual tradition features farm animals, carnival rides, exhibits and fair food.
