All of Westchester and Fairfield Counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service through 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Accumulations of snow could total 3 to 5 inches, the weather service says, with higher local amounts possible.
“Snow will develop toward the end of the morning rush and continue into the afternoon,” the advisory says. “The snow should taper off during the first part of the afternoon rush hour.”
The weather service adds: “Accumulating snow will create icy and hazardous travel conditions throughout the day.”
Metro-North Railroad is reporting good service on the New Haven line, as well as the Hudson and Harlem lines.
Utilities are reporting no significant power outages as of mid-morning Tuesday.
