Turner, Essie Ann (nee Contois), of West Harrison, NY and formerly Larchmont, NY died peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Essie, the daughter of Bernard and Evelyn Contois, was born in Cohoes, NY.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Thomas Turner. Loving mother of her son, Daren, and her twin daughters, Gretchen and Lauren. Cherished sister of Bernardine Quinn. Devoted sister-in-law of James and Beverly Turner, Gerard and Margaret Turner, Joan Turner, Francis and Barbara Bohan, John Turner, Winifred Turner and Patrick Quinn. Adored aunt of 19 nieces and nephews.
Essie worked in the Mamaroneck School District for three decades; the past twenty years at the Hommocks Middle School with Special Education children. She cherished working with the staff, making lifelong friends and loved interacting with the students.
Essie was a strong, courageous, thoughtful, caring, positive thinking woman who made the lives of those around her richer for knowing her.
Arrangements were handled by Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont.
