Community Input Shouldn't Stop after Election Day

Election day is not the only day where your 'voice' and vote matters.  Every day is an opportunity to share your thoughts, opinions, insights, advice, comments and more.

Each one of us has limited perspectives on what happens around us each day.  Our sphere of influences are also limiting and their thoughts and ideas might be helpful, but that's only a fraction of information that is available throughout an entire community.

Election day is a great day because it brings those who want to express their opinions the opportunity to do so, freely, without compromising their personal beliefs while remaining anonymous.  There is no reason every day can't be 'election day' but without ballots.

Now that the 'people' have spoken, the dialog should remain open. I welcome everyone in Mamaroneck Village to share thoughts, ideas, opinions, insights and concerns at any given time.

How can you do so?

You can email the Village Board directly, you can send letters to the Village (either with your name or anonymously), you can call the Village Manager and Board members to share your thoughts, you can attend meetings, volunteer to serve on a committee, attend community events where you can meet representatives face-to-face or you can simply stop us on the street.

I don't only speak for myself, but for everyone that serves with me - we are interested to hear what you have to say.

Last night's election evening gatherings were a great way to watch the community interact with one another and with elected officials from all over the State.  Our State Senator, Assembly man, Council Woman, Trustees, Town Supervisor and more were all on hand to welcome the results from the citizens who cast their votes. But please, don't let it stop there.  Keep the communications coming!

Always,

Ilissa

p.s.  MANY MANY Thanks to the poll station workers - who are trained to do what they do from 5:30am through 9:00pm on each election day.  Your job is equally important, providing each citizen the opportunity to submit their ballots.  Bravo for another job well done.
