Completely restored to period; Mamaroneck's One Room Schoolhouse.
Mamaroneck Historians will be on hand at the 1816 School House, on the West Boston Post Road (opposite Fenimore Road) on Sunday, July 08 from 2:00 to 4:00 to share with you historical secrets of this building and Mamaroneck.
The School House was rescued from demolition, moved to the Harbor Island Park across the street from the 1790 DeLancey House and completely restored to period.
Mamaroneck school children and other groups have enjoyed the experience of taking a class in the School House. Now is your chance to have a look for yourself.
After your visit, why not stroll over to Orienta Avenue. There you can see the recently rediscovered 1901 geological and cultural phenomenon: The Washington Face Rock. Does it look like George Washington to you?
