The Aftermath of Lost Superpower Dominance

At Home on the Sound presents:

The Aftermath of Lost Superpower Dominance

Saul Cohen, a geographer and specialist in
geopolitical theory and political geography will discuss the geopolitical future of the U.S.  No longer the dominating superpower, the U.S.
shares geopolitical power with China, Europe, Russia,
Japan and, prospectively with Brazil and India.  Failed wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan, Dr. Cohen adds, plus domestic political dysfunction have further
undermined our leadership. He will discuss America’s political future as world
leader and our need for genuine partnerships with the European Union and the
Asia-Pacific Rim.
Cohen is the author/editor of fourteen books, has
held professorships in geography at Boston University, Clark University and
Hunter, is past president of the Association of American Geographers, President
Emeritus of Queens College, and former Dean of the Clark University Graduate
School.  Free and open to the public. Refreshments at 3:30, program at 4:00pm.
