YOGA NIDRA: Guided Meditation for Deep Relaxation

Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique in which you learn to relax consciously.  It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.  Yoga, means union or one-pointed aareness, and Nidra means sleep. These two elements are combined into a dynamic sleep.

During the practice of Yoga Nidra, one appears to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness.  The state of realxation is reached by turning inwards, away from outer experiences.  If the consciousness can be separated from external awareness and from sleep, it becomes very powerful and can be applied in many ways, for example, to develop memory, reduce chronic tension or pain, increase knowledge and creativity, or transform one's nature.

We start with warm-ups and breathing and then we remain still (lying down or sitting on a chair) for Yoga Nidra. You can bring your own mat.
