Second Annual Larchmont Mamaroneck Center for Continuing Education Art Exhibit at the Larchmont Public Library.

The Larchmont Public Library presents an exhibit of works by more than twenty students and faculty from the Larchmont Mamaroneck Center for Continuing Education. This second annual art exhibit of the LMCCE will be on display in the Oresman Gallery in the Larchmont Public Library from May 2, through May 30, 2012. Featured in the exhibit are works across a wide range of media including oil paintings, watercolors, collages, photography, ceramics and jewelry.  The exhibit is free and open to everyone during normal library hours.

There will be an artist’s reception for artists whose works are on display in the exhibit on Saturday, May 5, from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.  Board members of the LMCCE will be on-hand at the reception to discuss the exhibit and the program offered by the Center. The reception is also free and everyone is welcome.

The Larchmont Mamaroneck Center for Continuing Education, a non-for-profit organization, provides the community with quality life-long learning opportunities at affordable prices. A feature of the community since the 1920’s, it offers a broad array of courses designed to cultivate learning and enrich the lives of people living in our community. Approximately 2,500 students per year register for courses ranging from computer training and foreign languages to the visual arts, dance, exercise, cooking, and film appreciation. A broad array of trips, such as guided walking tours in New York City, popular museum exhibits and public gardens in the tri-state area, are also offered.

The Center offers 10-15 visual art classes per semester, from beginning to advanced levels. The classes allow instructors to work with each student individually to help develop their skills at his or her own pace in a supportive environment. Most instructors have worked with the Center for many years and have degrees in art as well as education. Many have exhibited widely, including several who have exhibited internationally.
