Water Works Update: Verizon Work on Winfield Ave Causing Phone Issues

Westchester Joint Water Works (WJWW) is experiencing issues with its phone system. Verizon crews are on site.

This is an update from the Village of Mamaroneck regarding the Westchester Joint Water Works (WJWW) serving Harrison, Larchmont and Mamaroneck: Verizon is continuing to work on the damaged phone lines to the WJWW on Winfield Avenue and unfortunately that work is causing issues with WJWW's phone system again, according to a release from WJWW.

The cell number to call for emergencies is posted on the WJWW website (914-424-4371).  There is no non-emergency number available as of Tuesday afternoon.

Verizon crews are on site, but there is no estimated time of completion of the work as of Tuesday afternoon. At best, WJWW will have intermittent phone service until the work is done, according to the release.

Numerous calls have been made to Verizon and they have indicated that they are doing as much as possible to rectify the situation, but it is apparently a complex repair. The Village of Mamaroneck will send out further information when the next update is available.
