Jam Session, Westchester Estates and BRP Closings

Here are a few things in and around Larchmont and Mamaroneck you need to know about for Wednesday, August 21, 2013.

1. Groove's Summertime JAMS with Music for Aardvarks will happen at 10 a.m. Wednesday for kids age 6 months to 5 years and their grownups. The ultimate dance party and jam session will feature live music. Groove musicians will lead the JAM featuring the best of the Music for Aardvarks song collection. Groove is located at 108 Chatsworth Ave. in Larchmont. It's $25 for first child, $10 for siblings. Registration is required at http://findgroove.com/.

2. The Hidden Treasure of Westchester is the subject of the free lecture Wednesday by Patrick Raftery, the librarian of the Westchester County Historical Society. He will take you on an armchair tour of fabulous estates with fascinating stories. It begins at 7 p.m. at the Greenburgh Public Library, 300 Tarrytown Rd., Elmsford. More information.

3. You can expect sunny skies Wednesday with a high near 91, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight Wednesday, it will be partly cloudy with some fog. The low will be near 70.
