Flowers, Singing and Traffic Alert

1. A summertime crafts and learning experience for children age 5 to 7 will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, at the Larchmont Public Library, 121 Larchmont Ave. You'll talk blooms and blossoms and make some "flower gardens" to take home.

2. Westchester Chorale hosts Summer Sings at Larchmont Avenue Church at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6. The church is located at 60 Forest Park Ave., Larchmont. Admission of $10 ($5 for students) includes refreshments and use of a rental score.

4. The travel nightmare starts today—Tuesday, August 6. Boston Post Road is being closed at the Hutchinson River Parkway in Pelham Manor due to construction. Read more here. Closer to home, there will be traffic delays overnight this week on Boston Post Road at North/South Murray Avenue in Mamaroneck because of a drainage construction project. 5. A minute here, a minute there and soon it will be dark at at 4:30 p.m.—not that I'm counting. Sunrise Tuesday, August 6 is at 5:56 a.m. Sunset will be at 8:06 p.m. Monday's times were 5:55 a.m. and 8:07 p.m.
