Optimum Online Users Encounter Prolonged E-mail Issues

The company says they are working to restore access to e-mail and log-in ASAP.

For those of you wondering why you can't access your Optimum Online e-mail account or log in to certain sections of Optimum.net, the company reports that they are aware of the issue and are working to fix it as quickly as possible. 

Customers have expressed their frustration to Patch from Connecticut to New Jersey, and a Larchmont resident has told this reporter that he has not been able to access his Optimum Online e-mail all morning and has not been able to reach the help center by phone.

As reported in the New Canaan Patch, Cablevision issued a statement via e-mail this morning addressing the outages.

"Cablevision is experiencing technical issues that have resulted in email delays and email access issues for some customers," said the e-mail.  "We have located the problem and expect to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.  We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers, and we will update this announcement as more information becomes available."

Some customers have reported a lack of service since Thursday morning.
