Rye Neck and Mamaroneck returned from the long holiday weekend and both field hockey teams returned to dominate their opponents. Local teams also did very well in volleyball and boy’s soccer while the girl’s soccer team stumbled.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Fox Lane @ Mamaroneck

Score:  Mamaroneck Won 7-0

Highlights: The Tigers dominated the Foxes from start to finish as they won 7-0. The Mamaroneck defense proved to be impenetrable as Fox Lane rarely tested goalie Nina Kumar. The Tiger offense was led by Jessica Gardener and Alicia Meglio who each had three goals in the victory.

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Hen Hud @ Rye Neck

Score: Rye Neck Won 9-0

Highlights: The Panthers devoured the sailors as Rye Neck won 9-0. Five different Panthers scored in the victory and they were led by Nicole Morgan’s three. Nicole Miller also had five assists in the victory.

Sport: Volleyball

Game: Briarcliff @ Rye Neck

Score:  Rye Neck Won 3-0

Highlights: Rye Neck defeated Briarcliff in straight sets 25-11, 25-22, and 25-14. Julia Bilotta led the way for the Panthers with nine kills and Dominique Falcone added four kills and 10 assists.

Sport: Boy’s Soccer

Game: Valhalla @ Rye Neck

Score:  Rye Neck Won 1-0

Highlights: Alex Barreto scored the lone goal for Rye Neck as Dalton Mendes picked up 10 saves in goal.

Sport: Girl’s Soccer

Game: Horace Greeley @ Mamaroneck

Score: Mamaroneck Lost 2-1

Highlights: The Tigers had the lead at half-time but Greeley came out strong in the second period scoring two goals on the Mamaroneck defense. Danielle Selin had 10 saves in the losing effort and Abby Baigelman had the loan Tiger goal off of a Audrey Owens assist.

Today’s Schedule:

In boy’s soccer, Mamaroneck will welcome Mount Vernon in for a 7 p.m. showdown under the lights.

In field hockey, the Tigers will head to Sleepy Hollow for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

In girl’s tennis, Mamaroneck will host Scarsdale High School at 4:15 p.m.

In girl’s tennis, Rye Neck will head to White Plains for a 4:15 p.m. match up against the Tigers.

In volleyball, New Rochelle will head to Mamaroneck for a 4:15 p.m. show down.

In girl’s soccer, Rye Neck will host Dobbs Ferry at 4:30 p.m.
