The Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP), a nonprofit organization, was chartered in 1974 by the Regents of the University of the State of New York. WCSPP was the brainchild of a small group of eminent psychoanalysts who valued pluralistic psychoanalytic training set in a strong and vibrant professional community. The vision of its founders continues today at WCSPP, with its deep commitment to the rigorous academic training of clinicians amid open discussion of multiple psychoanalytic perspectives. WCSPP has continually moved forward to develop new programs that meet the changing needs of mental health professionals and to expand its Psychotherapy Service to best serve individuals in need of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.

Each class of our candidates is a vigorous group that becomes the nucleus for enduring professional and personal relationships. Affiliation with WCSPP continues long after graduation. Our Psychoanalytic Association, composed of candidates as well as graduates, provides members with a variety of intellectual forums, as well as social and networking opportunities. The WCSPP community includes professionals from our home in Westchester County, as well as those from neighboring Rockland and Dutchess counties, New York City and Connecticut.

WCSPP’s Psychotherapy Service provides ongoing psychoanalysis and psychotherapy on a sliding scale to children, adolescents, couples and adults. WCSPP is committed to serving the needs of all patients.
The Psychotherapy Service is not restricted by insurance limitations that can sometimes shorten the length of psychotherapy and control the nature of the treatment itself.

Please contact us with any questions you may have. We will be happy to meet with you to discuss the particular ways WCSPP can contribute to your professional as well as your personal development.
