She also issues and maintains licenses, certificates and permits, such as birth, death and marriage certificates, marriage licenses, municipal parking permits, and licenses for dogs, hunting, fishing, burglar alarms and garage sales, among others. </p> <p>The clerk can perform wedding ceremonies, and she acts as the town's Freedom of Information Officer and liaison to the board of elections. She and her deputies are are allowed to perform notary services to residents at no charge.</p>
