The Village of Mamaroneck harbor master is Joseph Russo. His office is located next to the West Basin of theMore Mamaroneck Harbor in Harbor Island Park. </p> <p>The harbor master supervises and manages all vessels within Harbor Island's waterways. He assigns applicants a float or mooring space, keeps a record of these assignments and issues ramp permits for launching boats. </p> <p>The boating session runs from May 1st through Nov. 1st, but the harbor master's office is open year round. </p> <p>A public launching ramp is available near the entrance to Harbor Island Park, and a pump-out station can be found at each basin.</p>

Located on a protected harborMore overlooking the Long Island Sound, the park's central location makes it a popular destination for Mamaroneck visitors and residents alike. Park goers can enjoy baseball, soccer, boating and fishing year-round, and a large playground is located in the center of the park. Special events and concerts are often held at Harbor Island; for more information on specific events and seasonal activities, contact the Village of Mamaroneck Recreation Department, located inside the park near the beach pavilion.

Located in the Beach Pavilion in Harbor Island Park, the Recreation Department is in charge of all recreationMore programs run by the village and schedules the use of  playing fields and other recreational facilities.</p> <p>The department offers programs for both children and adults, most of which take place at the Beach Pavilion, and plans seasonal events.</p> <p>Recreation facilities in the Village of Mamaroneck include the 44-acre Harbor Island Park, small parks, a 700-foot beach, tennis courts, softball and soccer fields, and a recreation center.  </p>

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 75

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 75 (once Flotilla 73), is the civilian, non-military arm of the CoastMore Guard. Located in Mamaroneck's Harbor Island Park, it patrols the Sound Shore community, from the Bronx line to Connecticut, according to Flotilla Commander, Reed T. Hamel. Its purpose is to help boaters in distress, do safety checks of recreational vessels, and to educate people about boating safety. </p> <p>In addition to its six boat facilities, Flotilla 75 also has an air wing. There are three air facilities that assist the Coast Guard in search and rescue missions, conduct ice patrols of the Hudson River in the winter, and patrol the New York metropolitan area during the boating season.</p> <p>Courses in boating certification, as well as monthly meetings, are held at this location in Harbor Island Park. Thirty-seven members strong, the Coast Guard Auxilary is always looking for new recruits. Anyone interested in joining can contact the flotilla commander at 914-428-3988.</p>

This small, informal, member-run boat club puts emphasis on sailing and kayaking. Horseshoe's mission is to promoteMore sailing and to offer easy access to the Long Island Sound for those who love the water. Various membership formats are available and there are programs for non-members including the adult Learn to Sail Program and the Junior Sailing Program.
