A Hommocks Middle School student told school officials he was approached by men in a car yesterday afternoon.

As he was walking home from school yesterday at 4:45 p.m. on bustling Boston Post Road near Trader Joe’s, a Hommocks Middle School student reported that he was approached by several strange men in a car who offered to give him a ride or help, according to an e-mail notice that was sent out to Hommocks parents today. Mamaroneck Not Immune to Crime, Safety Precautions Urged

Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson addressed the recent robbery at gunpoint that occurred in the Town of Mamaroneck at last night's board meeting.

In the wake of a recent spate of burglaries and a robbery at gunpoint in the Town of Mamaroneck, events that have shattered the calm—at least temporarily—of this peaceful community, some residents have come forward to ask the town for answers. George Roniger, a town resident for over four decades and Planning Board member, approached the podium at last night’s board meeting to speak on behalf of apprehensive members of the community. “A lot of people are concerned about the burglaries in the town and village [of Larchmont],” he said, continuing, “A number of people have suggested security cameras—putting them on public property or within our homes.” Due to these concerns, Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson will coordinate a police presentation…

So just because Chief Poleway addresses the village board everyone is happy? In this instance it appears that the town board has been briefed about the town police department's "continuing investigation". Not only that, but kudos to Nancy Seligson and Chief Rivera for dedicating an entire police presentation to this issue. With something this important, why try to cram it into a regular town …   more ›
