Amazing that we can't afford teachers and busing our kids to school or flood control initiatives butRead More they are raising money for new fields. Our priorities have gotten totally skewed. Now is not the time for this project.

1. Teachers in this area make enough money. The budget each year increases to give them raises thatsRead More built in. Its time the teachers do NOT accept raises to allow for other items like busing. Personally, I am OK with putting kids on a city bus if it will save jobs and save money. Flood control should certainly be at the top of the list. Nothing wrong with trying to improve the ball fields in our towns being that we have few that are sufficient to begin with.

I could never understand why so many worship the NFL including the low class\no class players. TheRead More gladiator mentality sees people knowing more about player statistics then those who are supposed to represent them in congress and the real problems in the world. Is it any wonder as to why the country is in rapid moral rot and decline?

Someone tell the new owners of Patch - private equity firm Hale - that Patch is only relevant forRead More hyper-local news and information. We will get our sports and weather elsewhere.
Phil Konigsberg February 11, 2014 at 04:04 pm
I agree with New York Patriot - and how about getting what you post comprehensive - since youRead More mentioned the NHL teams that our local area Olympians are affiliated with, how about mentioning that Ryan Callahan is with the NY Rangers. The daily Bayside-Douglaston Patch emailed newsletter needs to be updated on a daily basis. Right now the I receive the identical email every day. Enough with the meatball soup already!

Hi, Randy. We have warned people about the child with measles who went to the mall on Patch and onRead More our Facebook pages. As for curling, it's one of my family's favorite Olympic sports, because you can do it in street shoes with a broom!
