Looking forward to another great season!! Controversies aside, this stadium is far and away one ofRead More the best things to happen in Rockland in a long, long time. I am horrified and sickened by this senseless attack. Words seem inadequate to express my heartfeltRead More condolences and prayers to those who suffered a lost. My prayers are extended to the injured for a speedy and full recovery. I hope they offer some comfort. " he represents another stellar example of the thorough mind scouring that the American TalibanRead More (i.e. the Christian Right) has perpetrated on a vast segment of contemporary American society." Clown.

Very true! Months back, I started noticing a change in my son’s character. He was growing toRead More be practically scared of everything around him. I later learned that he was developing a sense of phobia and inferiority complex in him that he was too weak to defend himself from his schoolmates who found it interesting to bully him physically and mentally. I grew worried about this and desperately looked around for a solution. That is when I happened to hear about Classical Martial Arts Centre in Toronto. After having enrolled at the Classical Martial Arts Centre, my son has never been the same. He is confident and mentally strong now. He is focused and is doing pretty well in his academics. He now knows how to defend himself and is no longer scared of anything around him. The meditation classes that he attended there have worked out for the best. Certainly, karate can boost the confidence level in children!

Absolutely nothing. Thomas' comment does not offer a contrary opinion, or even a knowledgeableRead More critique of martial arts; instead, he represents another stellar example of the thorough mind scouring that the American Taliban (i.e. the Christian Right) has perpetrated on a vast segment of contemporary American society. Someday Thomas may read a book other than the Bible, perhaps he'll discover some of the fine Christian thinkers such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer, or consider the historical crimes perpetrated upon indigenous peoples in the name of J.C., or maybe one day his conscience will simply and miraculously alight to the realization that he's been utterly, thoroughly and completely wrong in his world view. But until that day comes, he's entitled to his opinion, as am I.

Bond's issue was addressed in this blog a few weeks ago. He too should be remembered for badRead More decisions...unfortunately. Here is the link: http://nyack.patch.com/articles/nyse-fire-rex-bonds-clemens-in-hall-of-fame-nets-are-best-in-ny I have not felt a bit of "outrage" over this but I have felt disappointment. Nothing more, nothing less. But hey, he didn't sue me under false pretenses like he did to so many that he couldn't even recall them all when Oprah asked him about them. I remember youngsters wearing those bracelets and being proud to wear them. Proud of Lance and all he had overcome and proud of the country he represented. It's disappointing to hear the truth, no matter how obvious and unrealistic it may have been.

The comparison between ELI and SANCHEZ during their first four years is interesting. However, ELIRead More won his first Superbowl and Superbowl MVP early enough in his career so he can do no wrong. Adding a second ring and Superbowl MVP only adds to his untouchable status. SANCHEZ on the other hand has no such credentials. New York has always been about winning championships. Until SANCHEZ wins a ring, he will be this decades BROWNING NEAGLE. That is the reality of NY sports. Jeff Meyer Tuckahoe, NY

Seriously B comparing guns to cars seems quite ignorant to me. What percent of car accidents thatRead More have fatalities or serious injuries are intentional? Hence the word accident. Guns misfire and can kill their operators or someone nearby even if they are not being misused, but again that doesn't happen all that often. Kinda like intenional car accidents. Ridiculous comparisons like this only make me wonder about the mindset of gun owners.Yes the right to bear arms is part of what makes our country great but making it so easy to bear arms has become an enourmous problem. Thanks to Mr.Heinemann for addressing this issue, its sad that guns have to be even remotely involved in a story about a sport like football that is embraced and loved by so many Americans. KDC

Great comments by all. I have no agenda on this topic. I neither agree nor disagree with theRead More following but this quote is what inspired me to choose this topic: "Maybe brain damage triggered his violent overreaction to a fight with his girlfriend. What I believe is, if he didn’t possess/own a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today. That is the message I wish Chiefs players, professional athletes and all of us would focus on Sunday and moving forward. Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it."
