Not only were there no tongue-tacos...there were no mini-tacos...there were NO tacos! Counter person was indifferent and said to stop by "in a couple of weeks" !! What ?? I always tried to give this place business, but the vibe was odd, and the space for the performers…Read More was not ideal, in fact, pretty bad. The food was decent but not fabulous. In a town with many great eateries, the competition was too great.
I applaud Bruce for having so much good music, though. I wish him well.

Watercolor always had a nice vibe. Nice sound system. Some very good acts have played there.
I…Read More was never a fan of the food. Too expensive and just not that good. I would prefer more of a "roadhouse" type of place like the place in Piermont. Burgers and bar food.
Hopefully Bruce starts another place and keeps good music coming back to this area.

Thank you for the article. I did not mean to leave a negative comment, but just for everybody's…Read More information: Armenian history has no records of the Mamikonians being a "royal house". Yes, there were glorious princes - Vardan, Vahan, Mushegh Mamikonians, there was the glorious Princely house of Mamikonians, but they were all princes (ishxan), not kings (arqa or thagavor). So, I have no idea what is the basis for madame Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian to claim that she is "a descendent of the Armenian throne". The true descendents may come only from true royal houses of Armenia, namely the Haykazunis, Artashesians, Arshakunis, Bagratunis, or Rubinian-Lousignans. For more info you can check the official website of the Union of Armenian Noblemen: http://armenian-nobility.com/en/

In response to Frank Vecchione, Animal Rights is one of the most important issues our country &…Read More our world faces. The EU banned seal fur trade, yet still, every year, the Canadian Government permits neanderthal-like men to crush cute Baby Seal Pup skulls with baseball bats. Even though it's not profitable, it happens. In South Dakota, the law can't charge you with a felony for being cruel & malicious to your pets. The pig "processors" pull the pig's teeth out with pliers weeks before the slaughter so they can't chew through the wire, Egg-laying hens are starved to manipulate the laying cycle & their beaks are broken off. In China, they skin animals alive.
Some people may not think those things are important because it's not happening to them, but it IS happening to a sentient, conscious, mind-of-a-5-year-old-human being.with emotions and pain sensory & it's important that that's discussed, as unpleasant as it is.
People talk about how graphic PETA is, but how is that different than the nightly news showing images of war and/or genocide?

Kim, I'd like to say thank you to you for volunteering your time at the New Rochelle Humane Society.…Read More They very much do important work there, and it must be incredibly hard to work there, seeing all those innocent, precious animals every day that just need a loving home. It must be so tempting to bring all the animals home.
Thank you to Michael Woyton & Patch for consistently reporting on these animals. They need our awareness & help. I can't believe that people still move without their pets, or get rid of them because someone is "allergic."

After initially backing Sustainable Playland I've become increasingly uncomfortable in how…Read More they’ve conducted themselves in the run-up to this announcement. And Mr. Astorino is very foolish in associating his career with Pataki Machine Apparatchik Kevin Plunkett – who was the City of Rye’s head lawyer for years and as of today has yet to be deposed under oath about the expanding Rye Golf Club Scandal.
Per Current Rye City Manager Scott Pickup:
Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett Vetted Agency That Stole Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars from City of Rye.
http://www.lausdeo10580.com/lausdeo10580/2013/04/rye-city-mngr-says-westchester-deputy-county-executive-kevin-plunkett-vetted-agency-that-stole-hundr.html
So is Mr. Pickup lying (again), or has he just fingered one of Rye’s former top fiduciaries in apparent malpractice - or even worse?
(Our local Schubert’s Pond depositions and subpoena recovered stolen City of Rye documents may actually come in handy very soon.)

I fail to see how the demolition of 33% of the present amusement park footprint, with the…Read More elimination of the vast majority of the rides that do not exist in the kiddieland portion, will somehow make the amusement park profitable. Replacing those rides with a great lawn truly does not make economic sense. If it did, more amusement parks would eliminate their rides and replace it with green space, wouldn't they? I assume that SPI's plan is to have the revenue loss, due to the planned decrease in attendance at the amusement park (the elimination of 2/3 of the parking lot attests to this), made up for by the revenue from their field house fees and ice casino which will run year round. My fear is that as the amusement park loses more and more revenue, those in control will decide that the amusement park portion must close as it slides further and further into the red. Is SPI or Astorino going to guarantee that they will continue to keep the amusements open even if revenue declines? I would like to hear. I understand that there are those who would like to see the amusement park close, but I believe those are in the minority. Many of SPI's ideas, such as the field house and ballfields, could be achieved without the elimination of the rides being replaced with a lawn. I sincerely hope that this is not a two step process in the elimination of Playland. My children love the rides.

Do the County public golf courses make money? Should I have to pay taxes to support divot diggers?…Read More How many hundreds of acres are devoted to ruining good walks? Since when is a park supposed to make a profit? The sad part is so many people buy into the nonsense that "government should be run like businesses". Businesses can close when they aren't profitable. Does the fire department make a profit? It is absurd.
