Murray Avenue School is part of the Mamaroneck Union Free School District and serves grades kindergarten through fifth grade.

As part of the school's curriculum, students participate in several weekly activities: they take art classes that expose them to drawing, painting, sculpture, construction, collage, printing, crafts and mixed media; they participate in a weekly music class that allows them to sing, play classroom instruments, learn music reading skills, create music and dance; and they take physical education classes. The physical education department sponsors a number of events throughout the year, some of which are Circus Arts and Healthy Heart Day.

Several student activities and clubs are also offered like band, community outreach, science fair and theatre.
