Not sure what the first reviewer is talking about because I went to Hector's and was delighted by the food served. The dishes are hearty, balanced and taste great. The waitstaff is attentive, knowledgeable and the atmosphere in the dining room is casual and sunny.
I remember when it was just a luncheonette which is also on patch, (it didn't lack in greatness then) but Hector has really developed the place into a top eatery on Mamaroneck Ave. He combines Spanish and Peruvian flavors into an odd couple meal that works and has kept my family coming back for more.
Stop by for a brunch on the weekends that rivals the best diners in the area and a dinner that is cooked like mom use to.

Oh my God! Just had breakfast here a couple of hours ago. Its a small place and I'm surprised to see it on here. Anyway, the food was yummy. My cousin said its been around forever and I'm glad I know about it know. Definitely a low-key under the radar place that makes the classics fresh and right.
Try their home fries, they're amazing!
