Oh my God! Just had breakfast here a couple of hours ago. Its a small place and I'm surprised to see it on here. Anyway, the food was yummy. My cousin said its been around forever and I'm glad I know about it know. Definitely a low-key under the radar place that makes the classics fresh and right.

Try their home fries, they're amazing!

Not sure what the first reviewer is talking about because I went to Hector's and was delighted by the food served. The dishes are hearty, balanced and taste great. The waitstaff is attentive, knowledgeable and the atmosphere in the dining room is casual and sunny.

I remember when it was just a luncheonette which is also on patch, (it didn't lack in greatness then) but Hector has really developed the place into a top eatery on Mamaroneck Ave. He combines Spanish and Peruvian flavors into an odd couple meal that works and has kept my family coming back for more.

Stop by for a brunch on the weekends that rivals the best diners in the area and a dinner that is cooked like mom use to.

Hector's is a terrific addition to Mamaroneck Avenue! We have mostly ordered take-out meals from them, but feel that their dishes are of the same quality in freshness and preparation as their Port Chester and Stamford competitors. The dishes are hearty and satisfying (comfort food!). Keep in mind that this is not a Peruvian restaurant that 'Americanizes' their dishes as some of their Port Chester/Greenwich border restaurants do. If you are looking for simple & satisfying Peruvian food, give them a try! (Having married into a Peruvian family 25 years ago it's fair to say that I have probably eaten at every Peruvian restaurant in this area so I do know what to expect.)

I have only been eating Peruvian food the last couple years and LOVE IT. I have tried places in Port Chester and Stamford Ct and was so excited to see that Hectors was serving Peruvian food right here in my town. My husband and I went for lunch and ordered dishes we had had several times at other Peruvian places and we were so disappointed in the Peruvian cooking at Hector's. The flavors were off and just not appetizing. To top it off the whole meal was interrupted by a delivery man walking back and forth through the dining room for at least 20 minutes. Hope they find a better Peruvian cook.
