Model Trains, Variety Show and Peer Education for Middle School Girls

Here are a few things happening this weekend in the area.

• Girls Inc. Westchester’s Girls In Charge program will present the first in a series of workshops for middle school girls at Isaac E. Young Middle School in New Rochelle at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014. The workshop will include two hours of peer education introducing girls to entrepreneurial career possibilities, followed by lunch and panel discussion with local business women. • John Wesley Harding leads a variety show at 8 p.m. Saturday with nationally renowned and emerging musicians, writers, raconteurs, and comedians. It will make you laugh, think, and sing along, sometimes all at once. Tickets are $37. The show will be held at the Emelin Theatre, 153 Library Lane, Mamaroneck. For more information, go here

• Westchester Toy & Train Show: The electric toy train and toy show on Sunday features over 300 dealers of various gauge electric trains and accessories, parts, and books for Lionel, American Flier, Marklin, Tyco and others. Additionally, many classic toys will be on display, such as Star Wars, Dinky, Thomas Toys, comics, soldiers, dolls, games, test tracks, working layouts, etc. Admission is $11.00 for adults and free for children under 12.
