Mamaroneck Kids Battle Big Bluefish

Village of Mamaroneck campers headed to Bridgeport for baseball, mascot fun.

It's not clear what the Village of Mamaroneck day campers did to get the best seats in the house, but it's exactly what they had at the Bridgeport Bluefish game on Wednesday.

The local campers crossed into Connecticut and sat in the front rows behind home plate at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in downtown Bridgeport, where the team hosted Camp Day against the Somerset Patriots.

The day camp's Dave Campbell said Mamaroneck kids have participated at the Bluefish event for at least five years.

"It's great, they have fun," he said, adding that someone from Mamaroneck's day camp would later race around the bases with the Bluefish mascot, which is, not surprisingly, a Bluefish.

The Bluefish also sprayed the Mamaroneck kids with a water gun - we have the photo to prove it.

For those keeping score at home, the Somerset Patriots defeated Bridgeport 4-2.
