Eastchester lacrosse hosted Mamaroneck on Saturday and the Eagles walked away with 15-7 victory at home.
Tom Cirillo scored a game high nine goals and Matt Power, Rob Carinci and Anthony Sala each scored twice for Eastchester in the win. Joe Arcidiacono picked up 22 saves for Eastchester.
Mamaroneck’s Reed Malas led the Tigers with three goals as Dillan Pailes Friedman scored twice in the loss.

College Sports Notebook:
Dominican College and Nyack College are set for action on Tuesday as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Championship gets underway.
The third-seeded Chargers (23-24, 13-7 CACC) will host No. 6 seed Caldwell (12-28, 9-11 CACC) while No. 4 seed Bloomfield (21-16, 13-7 CACC) will host No. 5 seed Nyack (23-22, 11-9 CACC). Both games are slated for a 2 p.m. The survivors advance to the double-elimination phase of the championship, which is scheduled Thursday through Saturday and hosted by Wilmington (DE) University.
Thursday’s games will be played at Wilson Field on the campus of Wilmington University. No. 1 seed Felician (25-20, 16-4 CACC) will begin the action when it faces the Bloomfield/Nyack winner at noon. Second-seeded Wilmington (29-16, 14-6 CACC) will follow with a contest against the Dominican/Caldwell winner at 3 p.m.
Friday's and Saturday’s games are scheduled at Frawley Stadium, home of the South Atlantic League’s Wilmington Blue Rocks, a Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Friday’s game times are slated for noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The title game on Saturday is scheduled at 11 a.m. If necessary, a second game will be played at approximately 2 p.m.
The winner of the CACC Baseball Championship earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.
Wilmington University captured the 2011 CACC Baseball Title and has won two of the last three, dating back to 2009.
Big East Honor for Steinberg
Rutgers University women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Ali Steinberg of Suffern was named to the all-Big East first-team, while junior midfielder Stephanie Anderson of Wading River was named to the second-team.
“I’m very thankful for everything my teammates have done for me, and they are a big part of this award,” Steinberg was quoted as saying. “I couldn’t have asked for a better season with this team. I also owe a lot to Coach (Laura Brand-Sias) and would like to thank her as well. I’m honored to be recognized.”
Steinberg paced the Scarlet Knights with 48 points on 32 goals and 16 assists. The midfielder added 38 draw controls, 21 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Steinberg ranked fourth in the league in free position goals per game (0.88) and eighth in points per game (3.00).
- Sophomore Spencer Samelson of Larchmont, a right-handed pitcher, helped the Onondaga Community College Lazers wrap up their regular season with a doubleheader sweep at Tompkins-Cortlandt Community College. Samelson, who pitched at and will transfer to Manhattanville College this fall, was credited with the victory in the opener and closed out the nightcap with a perfect inning. The Lazers, No. 5 in the country in the Division II JUCO rankings, took a 45-9 record into the National Championship tournament in Tyler, TX.
- Rasheen Davis, a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College where he later served as an assistant to veteran men’s basketball coach Dennis O’Donnell, has joined the staff at Manhattan College. Davis, who received a Masters degree from the College of New Rochelle, will serve under Jaspers head coach Steve Masiello of White Plains.
- After splitting a double header with Marist College, the Iona Gaels softball team clinched the MAAC regular season championship for the second time in three years. Iona won the second game of the double header 3-0. Allison Hand, Eileen McCann, and Chelsea Sheehan each scored in the victory.
