Parents of student athletes, join the bloggers on Patch today and start sharing your student's sports accomplishments.

Written By Lisa Gentes-Hunt & Patch Staff

As a parent of a student athlete, you know how important it is to celebrate the successes of your children. Thousands of your neighbors turn to Patch every day for local news, information and conversation. Why not highlight the wins of your son or daughter’s sports team with the whole community?

Part of the Patch mission is to strengthen communities and improve the lives of their residents, but we can't do it without you. Our Blog section allows members of the community—from cooking enthusiasts to local politicians and everyone in between—to interact and post directly to the site. Select blogs appear on the homepage, in the daily newsletter and are shared by editors via Facebook and Twitter.

Whether you’re sharing photos and a play by play from the girls soccer game like New Canaan U13 Girls Red Soccer Team's Blog or pictures from last night’s basketball game like Odenton-Severn Patch blogger Todd Breese or posting the standings from a recent track and field event like Perry Hall Patch blogger Lisa Alluisi, a Patch blog allows you to easily share just about anything while connecting with a local audience. Best of all, it’s easy!

Interested? First, you need to sign in and create an account. Or, if you're already a Patch user, log in to your home Patch.

Second, click on the Blogs menu tab at the top of the homepage and click "start a blog." Follow the simple instructions, add your text and a photo or video, hit submit–and your blog is live!
