Chatsworth Elementary Unveils New Playground in Larchmont

The playground's infrastructure and design was financed by a bond referendum; the equipment was funded primarily by the PTA.

A new playground at Chatsworth Elementary School was recently dedicated with over 1,000 students, family members, faculty and community members attending.

Principal Gail Boyle presided over the official ribbon-ceremony, which was followed by music, games and ices.

The playground infrastructure and layout was funded by the Mamaroneck school district's 2012 bond referendum. The PTA was the primary funding source for the playground equipment.

Boyle said the playground was a tremendous enhancement for the school.

She said the design was the result of a committee made up of parents, students, staff and community members who worked with the district's architects.
