Reprieve For Pine Brook Residents?

Residents of Larchmont's Pine Brook neighborhood may be resting easier this summer as the Village of Larchmont ponders its future with the company contracted to complete the ill-fated Palmer Avenue Streetscape, and workers begin to withdraw their equipment from the newly-renovated Pine Brook Park.

The project—which has been mired in controversy after Pine Brook residents  objected to their park being utilized as a construction staging area many months beyond schedule—was recently halted by the village due to unspecified "significant construction, management and safety issues."  Though the project was initially slated to take five months for completion by mid-November, administrative delays have forced the village to halt work several times.

Although it's unknown when—or if—the project will restart, the village has halted all work until the issues can be resolved.

According to the Save Pine Brook Park blog, workers have already begun to clear their equipment from the park.
