Mamaroneck Mayor Not Convinced Geesebusters Will Work

In a CBS News segment, the Village of Mamaroneck Mayor said that slaughter may be the only solution to control the Canada Goose population in the village.

Mayor Norm Rosenblum, in a CBS News segment that aired last night, was undeterred by the promises of the Geesebuster—a decoy bird designed to scare Canada Geese—as a solution to the overpopulation of geese in Mamaroneck.

Rosenblum said that the village tried relocating geese as a solution in the past.

"They put them in a truck. They drove them down to South Carolina — one of the Carolinas — and they flew back before the truck got back,” he said in the CBS segment.

Despite pressure from animal rights' activists and organizations, the village seems determined to go ahead with the slaughter as planned.
