Letter to the Editor: Parker the Better Choice for Legislature

To the Editor:
As a Larchmont resident and registered Democrat I am supporting Catherine Parker in the primary election to select the Democratic candidate for County Legislator (7th District).
At the candidates’ forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, Parker demonstrated an understanding of issues confronting Westchester County and an interest in developing solutions. As an experienced and currently serving elected official she has confronted the challenges of the property tax cap and other county issues. As a Westchester business owner and leader, she is conversant with the issues facing our economy.
Her primary opponent presented himself as the candidate most familiar, and best equipped to deal, with issues confronting the Village of Mamaroneck. In addition, he appeared not to be concerned with the substantial tax burden borne by Westchester homeowners.
I ask my fellow Democrats throughout the 7th District to vote for Catherine Parker in the primary. She will be a Legislator who will conscientiously and thoughtfully represent all of us.
