Drainage Construction Work to Resume in Mamaroneck

Improved safety measures have been put into place, after review by the state.

The Village of Mamaroneck has been cleared to restart construction work on the Boston Post Road/Barry Avenue drainage project.

A message from Village Manager Richard Slingerland said, "As the result of the review with the NYS Department of Transportation, and agreement on improved safety measures for the Boston Post Road project," work will resume Thursday evening, August 29.
Work on the drainage project was suspended August 21 when a third-party inspector was injured at the scene. 

The work will start at 7 p.m and end at 3 a.m. No work will be conducted from Friday through Monday for the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Slingerland also announced the schedule for the first week of September. It will provide for the celebration of Rosh Hashanah.

For Tuesday, Sept. 3, there will be day time and night time work. For Wednesday, Sept. 4, and Thursday, Sept. 5, there will only be day time work. There will be day time and night time work on Friday, Sept. 6.

Day time work occurs between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Night time work is between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m.

It has not been determined whether there will need to be weekend work for Sept. 7-8, Slingerland said.
