Construction at Barry Avenue in Mamaroneck Still on Hold

The Village of Mamaroneck is waiting for the OK from the state to resume work.

Work remains suspended for the Boston Post Road and Barry Avenue drainage improvement project because of an injury at the site.

An inspector monitoring construction was injured Wednesday, suspending work until further notice.

Mamaroneck Village Manager Richard Slingerland Wednesday the village was still waiting for the state to authorize construction to resume and to go through the paperwork process.

The inspector was working for a third party when he was knocked by a piece of heavy machinery into the work area. He was wearing the required safety gear and construction site helmet. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment. The inspector was released Thursday, Slingerland said, and is doing well.
