Village of Mamaroneck Police Department Mourns Loss of Sergeant

A veteran of the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department passed away this weekend.

An almost 17-year veteran of the Village of Mamaroneck (VOM) Police Department passed away this weekend, according to an obituary on the Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home website.  

Sgt. Thomas Anderson, a Mamaroneck resident who was hired in August of 1995, was one of four patrol sergeants on the village police force; the circumstances of his death are still under investigation said Det. Sandra DiRuzza, a spokesperson for the department.

According to the obituary, Anderson is survived by his parents Paul G. and Patricia Anderson, his sister Susan Murphy, a brother Steven Anderson, niece Kelly and two nephews, Matthew and Sean.

An eerie silence punctuated the VOM Police Department where a bouquet of flowers was set out to pay respect for the former member of the force.

A viewing will be held at on Thursday March 22 from 4-7 p.m.  The funeral service will be on Friday, March 23 at in Mamaroneck at 10 a.m., with an internment to follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
