Video Released of Suspect in Two Recent Gas Station Robberies

Public’s help sought in identifying gunman in Mount Pleasant, Elmsford holdups

From Westchester County Police:

Detectives conducting a joint investigation into two recent armed robberies have released video and photos of a suspect wanted in connection with holdups in Mount Pleasant and Elmsford.

The Mount Pleasant and Elmsford Police Departments, assisted by Westchester County Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are seeking to identify the gunman who held up two gas stations/convenience stores adjacent to the Saw Mill River Parkway on March 1.

The first robbery occurred in Mount Pleasant at 3 a.m. at a Sunoco station on Marble Avenue in Thornwood. At 3:30 a.m., the same suspect struck again, robbing a Gulf station on West Main Street in Elmsford.

The suspect, a white male about 28 to 33 years old, wore a ski mask during each robbery but was captured on video without it at one of the locations. In Elmsford, the man initially entered the store to pay for gas and a pack of gum. He returned a short time later wearing a different sweatshirt and the ski mask.

The gunman fled both robberies in a red Jeep Liberty with gold New York license plates and a spare tire mounted on the rear of the vehicle.

“Any armed robbery is of serious concern to law enforcement in Westchester,” Public Safety Commissioner George N. Longworth said. “This person was particularly brazen, committing two gunpoint robberies within 30 minutes.”

Mount Pleasant Police Chief Louis Alagno and Elmsford Police Chief Stephen Foster urged any member of the public who recognizes the gunman to call the police.

The public may call the county police tip line (800)-898-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential. The county police also accept tips and information by email and text at tips@wccops.com.
