Police Blotter: Custard Thief, Stolen Chopper and Missing Wallet

The following arrest information was supplied by the Village and Town of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Village of Mamaroneck

Friday, Sept. 7

12:12 a.m. – A woman driving a 2011 Volvo was stopped in front of 392 Palmer Ave. after police received a report of an erratic driver from a third party.  The woman was issued a summons for failure to stop at a red light.

1:06 p.m. – A 28-year-old New Rochelle man driving a 1997 Chevy was arrested for unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

3:45 p.m. – While stopped in traffic, the driver of a 2005 Honda reported that an unknown person driving a black SUV smashed into his rear passenger door while pulling out of a parking spot in front of 365 Mamaroneck Ave.  The driver sped off without stopping to assess the damage.  There were no injuries reported.

5:14 p.m. – After helping himself to a second serving of yogurt despite only paying for one, a customer at on 448 Mamaroneck Ave. was apprehended by an employee of the establishment who noticed the custard theft.  There were no charges pressed against the customer. 

8:41 p.m. – A Park Avenue resident complained that their house had been egged for the second time in three months.  The incident was documented only.

Saturday, Sept. 8

12:09 a.m. – The Department of Public Works (DPW) was called to remove a downed tree that was blocking the road near 1242 Arlington St.

12:15 a.m. – Another downed tree was reported on Palmer Avenue.

8:07 p.m. - The proprietor of a business on East Boston Post Road reported that a customer came into their establishment and attempted to pay for a purchase with a credit card that was declined.  The person left the store and didn’t return.

Sunday, Sept. 9

10:29 a.m. – The owner of a 2001 Toyota reported that it was scratched while parked and unoccupied on West Street.

1:30 p.m. – The owner of a 1989 Toyota reported damage to the rear window of his vehicle while it was parked and unoccupied on Harrison Avenue.

Town of Mamaroneck

Friday, Sept. 7

9:08 p.m. – The owner of a 2001 VW Jetta reported damage to the driver’s side mirror while it was parked on Palmer Avenue.

Sunday, Sept. 9

9:05 a.m. – An Oakdale Road resident reported a missing wallet that contained $150 cash, Bank of America, American Express, Bloomingdales’ and Saks’ credit cards.  There were several fraudulent purchases made on the owner’s credit cards.

9:29 a.m. – A resident reported their $4,000 Yamaha motorcycle as stolen.  The bike was parked on Richbell Road when it was taken.
