Police Blotter: $60K Art Theft and Drunken Attempt At Reporting Crime

The following arrest information was supplied by the Village of Mamaroneck police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Village of Mamaroneck

Tuesday, Jan. 17

9:54 a.m. – A Shore Road resident reported a theft of four sculptures worth $60,000 from his home.  The items were last seen on Dec. 15, 2011.

12:18 p.m. – Although a computer services business on Mamaroneck Avenue performed work for a customer they didn’t immediately get paid.  After a check for only half the agreed amount was received, the business reported their frustrations to police.  The person agreed to make restitution for the remainder of what was owed when police contacted her. 

10:19 p.m. – An inebriated person stumbled into police headquarters to report a minor harassment but was advised to return home until she was more lucid.  The woman declined medical attention.

Wednesday, Jan. 18

9:05 p.m. – A resident reported unwanted calls she had been receiving.  The incident was documented only.

Thursday, Jan. 19

12:07 p.m. – A resident reported that an unknown person was using her identification.  No money was lost.

7:08 p.m. – A 2009 Honda was struck while parked and unoccupied on the 900 block of Palmer Avenue.

7:31 p.m. – The driver of a 2010 Lexus smashed into a 2000 Volkswagon while it was parked and unoccupied on Gertrude Avenue, fleeing from the scene in a misguided attempt to remain undetected.  The driver was identified by a witness and issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.

10:25 p.m. – A driver was pulled over in front of 950 Mamaroneck Ave. and arrested for being an unlicensed operator, defined as either not possessing a license or having a license that's been suspended.
