A caller to the Tarrytown Police Department reported an alleged attempted burglary in a White Plains Road apartment.
Officers on scene said the attempted burglary occurred on Nov. 24 around 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. and was interrupted by the caller and a friend. The suspect was described as a man, approximately 5’9” in height, wearing a black jacket.
The suspect apparently fled on food northbound from the home toward a white car. Detectives searched the area and found nothing.
The case is under investigation though Lieutenant William Herguth said the description of the suspect was “scant.”
Herguth said nothing was reported stolen and police found no evidence of anything being taken from scene.
The tenant and friend told police they had entered the apartment and heard a door slam. They reported seeing the man fleeing outside, said Herguth, “but in essence they did not see a person from inside the place.”
