Colombia Engine and Hose #2 will host a blood drive on Wednesday, July 30 at the firehouse, 601 N. Barry Ave., Mamaroneck. The blood drive will take place in the meeting room from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Donors are eligible to enter a chance to win a $100 gift card.
Blood donors are needed in the summer months especially because of dwindling supplies due to summer vacations. The following is a list of blood donor requirements from the American Red Cross:
Blood Donors Must:
- Be in good general health and feeling well*
- Be at least 17-years-old in most states, or 16-years-old with parental consent if allowed by state law – see more information for 16-year-old donors »
- Weigh at least 110 lbs.
Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18-years-old and younger and all high school donors. Click here for weight requirements for young donors.
