The Westchester County Board of Elections website lists the limits on contributions for the primary as $1,000 per individual and $3,838 per family. Yet, the Friends of Catherine Parker’s July 15, 2013 campaign finance report shows a number of contributions, including one from current County Legislator Judy Myers whom she seeks to replace, well in excess of that amount.
Tom Murphy, a former Democratic Trustee in the Village of Mamaroneck, Parker’s opponent in the primary, has called upon her to review her filing and abide by the law. His campaign filed a formal complaint with the New York State Board of Elections. The Murphy campaign identified 7 contributions totaling $14, 195 that exceed the maximum limits.
The Murphy campaign did not accept any contributions that exceed the legal limits.
