Jerome Camarda, 83, Lifelong Mamaroneck Resident

The deceased was honorably discharged after 40 years of service as US Air Force Chief of Operations.

Jerome Camarda, a lifelong Mamaroneck resident passed away on December 9, 2013. Born on January 18, 1930 to Anna & Frank Camarda.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, children, Jerry (Joanie), George, Barbara, Frank and Bernie (Daniella) Camarda, three grandchildren as well as his siblings, Dom Camarda and Sara Bach. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jerome enlisted in the NYANG at the age of 18. He was honorably discharged after 40 years of service as USAF Chief of Operations stationed at bases at White Plains Armory, Stewart AFB and 274th Communications Squad in Roslyn, LI.

A past president of the G.I. Civic Association, a retiree of the US Coast Guard Flotilla 73 in Mamaroneck. An active parishioner at St. Vito's RC Church where he was instrumental in the building of St. Vito's School and Dad's Club.

To honor Jerry's life family and friends will gather on Wednesday from 4-8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Thursday 10am at St. Vito's RC Church followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Rosary Hill home 600 Linda Avenue Hawthorne, NY 10532.
