Did you know that over 150 bald eagles spend the winter along Hudson Valley waterways? And what better way is there to celebrate this winter visit than at Teatown’s Hudson River EagleFest℠ 2013!

With Title Sponsor First Niagara Bank Foundation and the returning support of Club Fit and Friends of Westchester County Parks, this celebration will take place Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 9:00am-4:00pm and be headquartered at Westchester County’s Croton Point Park.  Multiple eagle viewing locations will line the Hudson River, all staffed with birding experts, to help the public view our national symbol in the wild. Detailed keepsake maps will be available to guide visitors to each unique viewing destination.

New this year, Teatown’s Hudson River EagleFest℠ will feature a theme of “Flying into the Future: What You Can Do.” More than just a single event, Teatown’s Hudson River EagleFest℠ is a way for the public to discover the small things they can do each day to have a big impact on wildlife. All programs, tables and activities will center around this theme.

See an eagle up-close at the entertaining and educational shows taking place all day long in the Eagle Theatre and Eaglet Stage heated tents. Or participate in any number of the other plentiful activities including guided and independent eagle viewing, raptor shows, bus tours, storytelling, a tent brimming with children’s programs, bird walks and displays from 30 area organizations. For the most up-to-date schedule, please visit www.teatown.org/eaglefest.

Tickets will be required for any shows in the Eagle Theatre and for the bus tours. Guests should call 914-762-2912 x110 to purchase tickets. Prices are as follows:

Eagle Theatre Shows $5pp in advance; $10pp at the door (children ages 3 and under are free)

Bus Tours $25pp (for guests ages 12 and over)

Parking is free and shuttle buses will bring guests from the outlying lots and the Croton Harmon Train Station to Croton Point Park

ALL ABOARD THE EAGLE TRAIN!

Ride the train like never before! Attendees flocking from Manhattan can take the 9:50am Metro-North Eagle Train Car from Grand Central to Croton-Harmon and Peekskill stations. Along the way, they can view Hudson Valley birds, wildlife and sites with guest naturalists sponsored by Wave Hill. Free shuttle buses will bring attendees to/from the Croton-Harmon Train Station to Croton Point Park. The Peekskill Train Station is just a short walk from the Riverfront Green viewing site.

To participate in this event, guests will purchase a regular train ticket from Metro North. On the day of the event, Metro North personnel will direct guests to the correct train car to hear the wildlife presentation.
