Time to Toss Out That Christmas Tree in Larchmont & Mamaroneck

There are already Christmas trees lying at the curbside, sad as that may seem.

But now is the time to start thinking about putting away the decorations and, if you are going to have the municipality take the tree from you, stripping off the tinsel.

According to the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Joint Garbage Disposal Commission, trees placed at the curbside will be collected by the Highway Department through Jan. 17. Wreaths will be collected on the second garbage pickup day through Thursday, Jan. 17.

In the Village of Mamaroneck, Christmas trees will be collected during the regular garbage pickup schedule after the holiday season, but must be free of tinsel, lights or decorations, according to the village website.
