Mamaroneck Students Raise Money for Philippines Relief Efforts

From Mamaroneck High School:

As part of Mamaroneck High School's Battle of the Classes, the Student Council organized Penny Wars, a competitive fundraising project to raise money for the Red Cross Philippine's Relief Effort and for prom scholarships.

For three days, kids dumped pennies—and other coins—into their class jars.

After the money was counted, the kids had raised $2,950.91—almost $1,000 a day.
