Midsummer Dinner to Benefit Shore & ICare
A celebration of the housing accomplishments of SHORE (Sheltering the Homeless Is Our Responsibility) and I CARE and an opportunity to raise funds for families in need of housing.
A dinner and auction fundraiser scheduled for Wednesday, July 17th, will benefit two local organizations, SHORE (Sheltering the Homeless Is Our Responsibility) and I CARE (Interfaith Council for Affordable Residence).
The event takes place at Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck and in addition to raising funds for families in need of housing, the evening will honor William L. Carter, ‘alumnus’ of Open Arms Shelter, now Commissioner, Town of Greenburgh, Department of Community Resources.
The event will also honor Larchmont/Mamaroneck "Local Summit", a citizens’ action group dedicated to projects and programs for the betterment of their community.
The event starts at 6:30pm at Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck. Tickets can be reserved online at the SHORE website
SHORE is a volunteer group founded in 1985 on behalf of people with housing needs, SHORE helps homeless families in central Westchester County find permanent housing. Since 1990, SHORE has developed 22 new units of affordable housing, including 15 rental and 7 through homeownership.
I CARE was Launched in 1991 by former Mamaroneck Town Supervisor Dolores A. Battalia and a group of like-minded volunteers, it provides affordable housing for the homeless and disadvantaged. I CARE now houses 12 low-income families in the Larchmont/Mamaroneck community.
