The Larchmont Fire Department will be hosting a blood drive during the Village's Annual Truck Day Exhibit on Saturday, October 2, from 10:30am – 1:30pm. The event will be held at Fire Department Headquarters, 120 Larchmont Ave.
"We deliberately scheduled the blood drive to coincide with the Village's Big Trucks Day, to be held across the street in the Library Parking Lot, and the Larchmont Arts Festival, held in Constitution Park, adjacent to Fire Department headquarters," said Volunteer Lt. Rob Seitz, organizer of the LFD blood drive, held in conjunction with Sound Shore Medical Center. "That's because we need every one's blood, from truckers and wannabe truckers to artists and art aficionados. You don't have to be as tough as a flatbed driver to give blood because the SSMC phlebotomists have perfected the art of drawing blood painlessly, swiftly and, most importantly, safely."
Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh 110 lbs. Donors over the age of 76 years old require a doctor's note.
