Young film maker to speak at Larchmont Library

Gabrielle Giacomo, a
junior at Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich who is in her third year of
broadcast journalism at the school, will present on her film making
experience as part of a series focused on the achievements of Larchmont, New
York teens. Gabrielle hopes to inspire young filmmakers as she discusses
her filming career and showcases several of her films.



 The presentation will
take place on November 23 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Larchmont Public
Library, 121 Larchmont Ave. near the village center. It is designed for
prospective filmmakers in grades 6-12. 



 Her film, “Farm to
Table,” was recently selected as best student entry in the NYDEF Short Film
Festival, and will be screened at the Future of Cinema Film Festival and
Downtown Tyler Film Festival. She has also won first place in both the Chicago
CineYouth Film Festival and the Delta Moon Student Film Festival.

 Convent of the Sacred Heart is an all girls'
independent school from kindergarten through twelfth grade with a coed
preschool and prekindergarten.  The school
enrolls 740 students at its campus located at 1177 King Street, Greenwich,
Connecticut.  



 The
Broadcast Journalism program provides a unique opportunity to become effective
communicators of the 21st century. Students learn hands-on skills that
